We’re honored to welcome the Rev. Ashey DeTar-Birt as our guest preacher and presider at Communion. Rev. DeTar-Birt is an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA). She is the Co-Director of The Center for Jubilee Practice as well as the Program Manager with New York Unitarian Universalist Justice. She obtained her Masters of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary, an MA in Theater Arts from the University of Pittsburgh, and a BA in Creative Writing from Carnegie Mellon University. During her time at Union Theological Seminary, she received the Malcolm Boyd Veritas Award which recognizes promise for the work of social justice on behalf of the LGBTQ community.
Following worship, we meet for coffee hour in the Carnegie Library; all are welcome!
