On Sunday, June 23rd after worship, the Session has called a Special Meeting of the Congregation and Corporation of the Second Presbyterian Church in the City of New York for the purpose of receiving a proposed amendment to our Certificate of Incorporation.
The proposed amendment has been recommended and prepared for us by outside counsel advising us as we apply for 501(c)3 status with the IRS for the purpose of achieving compliance with current New York State law governing not for profit corporations. Session voted to approve this amendment in its June 6 meeting. NYS law requires that the congregation also approve the amendment in order for it to be adopted.
