Seeking a Better World Together

June 2018

Author gbakoulis, Written May 27, 2018

June is full of activities, fellowship, and celebrations as we move toward summer. Now and always, we cherish times spent together. Please join us as often as you can, and invite others to share in our fellowship.

Whether you are a longtime or new member or are considering making Second Presbyterian Church your spiritual home, we hope you will find ways to engage with us. Please call the church office at 212.749.1700 or speak to any church member if you have questions.

We seek God and practice a welcoming faith, treasuring our times together in God’s presence. We worship on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Children leave for Sunday School at 10:30 a.m. with their teacher, Pamela Hahn. Following worship (11:30 a.m.), we gather for fellowship and refreshments in the Carnegie Library.

All members of the congregation are encouraged to assist with worship as lector, beadle, greeter, or offering collector. Please see our June Worship Coordinator, Patti Van Dyke, if you’d like to assist.

Sunday, June 3:  Worship, 10:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary; Rev. Lindsay Borden preaching; Eunjung Ahn, Minister of Music. During our Time with Young Disciples, we’ll have a special thank you for our beloved Sunday School teacher, Pamela Hahn, who will be leaving us at the end of June.

Sunday, June 10: Worship, 10:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary; Rev. Lindsay Borden preaching. On the choir’s last Sunday until fall, our worship service will celebrate our music program and all who enrich it, including our Minister of Music, Eunjung Ahn.

Tuesday, June 12, 11:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary: Second Tuesdays at Second Tuesday Prayer Group. All are welcome; you don’t have to be a member of SPC (or, a Christian) to come and pray with us! After our prayer meeting, those who wish will adjourn to a local restaurant for lunch and conversation.

Sunday, June 17: Worship, 10:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary; Rev. Lindsay Borden preaching; Eunjung Ahn, Minister of Music; Sacrament of Communion, by intinction.

Sunday, June 24: Worship, 10:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Rev. Lindsay Borden preaching; Eunjung Ahn, Minister of Music; followed by our church “Picnic” in the Carnegie Library AND kickoff of our Mission Study project. Join us for good food and fruitful conversation.
